Do you need help choosing the right flowers for that special someone? Flowers have symbolism's behind them from years back in history. The Victorian Era was significant for floriography and sending hidden messages in the form of flowers. This is still relevant today and many flowers have meanings that you may not know about.

Occasion Flowers

When sending occasion flowers, flower symbolism can be significant. As many will known, the red rose is a sign of passion and romance, which is why it's so popular at Valentine's. The number of roses you send can also be significant.

The yellow rose represents friendship and pink showcases gratitude and joy making them the perfect choice for a birthday or thank you gift. Along with these, freesia symbolises thoughtfulness which is great for family and friends. Orchids are also the perfect gift that represent rare and delicate beauty.

Sympathy Flowers

Flowers also have meaning when sending sympathy designs. The white lily is a popular choice as they represent innocence and sympathy, and are linked to the natural balance of life and death. Poppies are also linked due to Remembrance day and can be used to signify remembrance and consolation. Furthermore, purple hyacinths symbolise sorrow and forgiveness and are the perfect choice for this time of year. Statice is said to represent fond memories and it's bright colours can bring cheer to sympathy designs.

Be sure to check the meaning of the flowers your sending and add a touch of thoughtfulness to gifts.
